One company, no subcontractor
The same Warren-based team that installs your HVAC and Generac does your wiring. You deal with one company, one bill, and one crew that knows your whole system.
A lot of Warren and Youngstown homes still run on a 100-amp panel that was never built for today's appliances. We upgrade you to 200-amp service and handle the permits and inspection from start to finish.

If your breakers trip when the AC and the microwave run at the same time, your panel is telling you something. Older homes across Trumbull and Mahoning counties were wired for a different era. Adding a new furnace, heat pump, EV charger, or standby generator can push a 100-amp panel past its limit.
AK Heating & Cooling is a licensed Ohio electrical contractor, license #38179. We replace overloaded panels, upgrade you to 200-amp service, and make sure your home has the headroom it needs for years to come.
Because we handle HVAC, generators, and wiring all in-house, we can size your panel in the same visit we install your new equipment. One company, one call, no waiting on an outside electrician.
Here is what we handle when you call us for panel work.
We keep it simple and we keep you informed at every step.
We come out, look at your current panel, and check what loads you have now and what you plan to add. We tell you whether you really need an upgrade or just a repair. No pressure, no upselling.
We pull the electrical permit and schedule the work around your day. If the utility needs to disconnect power for the service swap, we set that up so your downtime is short.
Our licensed crew replaces the panel, lands every circuit, and brings the work up to current Ohio code. We test everything before we leave and label each breaker so you know what is what.
We meet the inspector, walk them through the work, and handle any follow-up. You get a panel that passes and the paperwork to prove it.
Here is what sets us apart from a one-off electrician.
The same Warren-based team that installs your HVAC and Generac does your wiring. You deal with one company, one bill, and one crew that knows your whole system.
We are a licensed Ohio electrical contractor, #38179, and fully insured. Panel work is not a place to gamble on someone unlicensed.
Knob and tube, aluminum branch wiring, cloth-wrapped conductors. We have seen it all in older Niles, Warren, and Youngstown houses, and we know how to upgrade safely.
Adding a heat pump, EV charger, or generator soon? We size the panel for where you are headed, not just where you are today, so you are not paying for a second upgrade later.
We are part of the AK family of companies with a BBB A+ rating. Our name is on the truck and on the work.
Questions about your home? We will give you straight answers, no pressure.
Contact usThe most common signs are breakers that trip often, lights that dim when big appliances kick on, or a panel that still uses fuses. If your home runs on 100-amp service and you want to add central air, a heat pump, an EV charger, or a generator, you likely need more capacity. We do a free in-home check and tell you honestly whether an upgrade is needed. Sometimes a repair is all it takes.
Most residential 200-amp upgrades are done in a single day. The power is off for part of that day while we swap the panel and land the circuits. If the utility has to reconnect the service, that can add a little time, so we coordinate it ahead of the work. We always give you a clear window before we start.
Yes. We pull the electrical permit, schedule the city inspection, and meet the inspector ourselves. You do not have to chase paperwork or take time off to wait on an inspector. When the job passes, you get the documentation for your records and any future home sale.
That is one of the biggest reasons people call us. Because we are licensed for HVAC, generators, and electrical in-house, we can size and upgrade your panel in the same project as your new equipment. One crew, one schedule, no waiting on a separate electrician to free up your install.
Many older homes in the Mahoning Valley have aluminum, cloth, or knob and tube wiring. A new panel is often the right first step, but we always check the wiring it connects to. If we spot a safety issue, we tell you up front and lay out your options. We will not put a new panel on top of a problem and call it done.
Same-day dispatch from our Warren shop across five counties.
“Furnace went out on a Sunday night. AK had a tech in the driveway in 90 minutes, parts on the truck, and we were warm before kids' bedtime. Worth every dollar of the maintenance plan.”
“Our restaurant walk-in went down at 6am. AK answered the after-hours line on the second ring and had us running before lunch service. We've switched all of our refrigeration work to them.”
“Had Generac install, AC tune-up, and a humidifier swap done across two visits. One bill, one company, real techs. This is what local service is supposed to feel like.”
Before you ever have a problem, walk to your panel and find the big main breaker at the top. In a flood, a burning smell, or a sparking outlet, flipping that one breaker cuts power to the whole house fast. Teach everyone in the family where it is, and keep a flashlight nearby so you are not hunting for it in the dark.
Three Alex Mantalis companies, one Warren HQ. Each with its own license and insurance — coordinated when you need more than one trade.
