We check the panel first
Some installers just bolt on a charger and hope the panel holds. We check your capacity up front and tell you the truth before any work starts. No surprise tripped breakers or fire risk.
A Level 2 home charger fills your EV overnight instead of trickling in on a standard outlet. Our licensed Ohio electricians install the dedicated 240-volt circuit it needs, to code, across Boardman, Canfield, Austintown, and the Mahoning Valley.

Plugging an electric vehicle into a regular wall outlet works, but it is painfully slow. A Level 2 charger runs on a dedicated 240-volt circuit, the same kind that powers an electric dryer, and it can fill most EVs overnight. You wake up ready to go.
AK Heating & Cooling is a licensed Ohio electrical contractor, #38179. We install Level 2 home chargers the right way: a dedicated circuit, proper breaker, and a clean run to your panel, all to current NEC code with a passed inspection.
We also check your panel first. If your electrical service cannot handle a charger, we tell you up front, before any surprises. And because we do panel upgrades in-house, we can fix that in the same project. One company, one call.
Here is what we handle on a home charger install.
From the first call to your first overnight charge, here is the path.
We come out, look at your panel, and find the best spot for the charger near where you park. Right then we tell you if your panel can handle the load or if it needs an upgrade. No guessing, no surprise charges later.
We lay out exactly what the install involves, including any panel work, so you know the full picture up front. We confirm your charger model or help you pick one that fits your vehicle.
Our licensed crew runs the dedicated 240-volt circuit, sets the breaker, and mounts and connects the charger. The run is clean, protected, and built to current NEC code.
We test the charger with a real charge, confirm it is running right, and handle the city inspection. You drive off knowing it is safe and signed off.
Here is why Mahoning Valley EV owners trust us with the install.
Some installers just bolt on a charger and hope the panel holds. We check your capacity up front and tell you the truth before any work starts. No surprise tripped breakers or fire risk.
If your panel needs more capacity, we do that in-house in the same project. The same Warren-based team handles both, so you are not juggling two contractors.
Ohio electrical contractor license #38179. We wire to current NEC code and get the inspection signed off, which matters for your safety and your home's value.
Whether you drive a Tesla, Ford, Chevy, Rivian, or another brand, we install chargers that fit your vehicle and your home. Not sure which charger to get? We help you choose.
We serve Boardman, Canfield, Austintown, Niles, and the wider valley. Part of the AK family of companies with a BBB A+ rating and our name on every job.
Questions about your home? We will give you straight answers, no pressure.
Contact usYou can, but a standard 120-volt outlet charges very slowly, often only a few miles of range per hour. That might take a full day or more to fill your battery. A Level 2 charger runs on a dedicated 240-volt circuit and can charge most EVs overnight. For daily driving, Level 2 is the difference between always being ready and always waiting.
That depends on your panel and what else is running in your home. Many older Mahoning Valley homes have 100-amp panels that may not have room for a charger's load. We check your panel capacity before we install anything and tell you honestly if it can handle it. If it cannot, we can upgrade the panel in the same project so you only deal with one company.
We work with most major EV brands and chargers, including Tesla, Ford, Chevy, Rivian, and more. Whether you already bought a charger or need help picking one, we install the dedicated 240-volt circuit it needs. If you are not sure which charger fits your vehicle and your garage, just ask. We help you choose the right one before we install.
Yes on both. We wire every charger to current NEC code, install the correct breaker and dedicated circuit, and pull the permit. We schedule and meet the city inspection so the work is signed off. That protects your home, keeps your insurance valid, and matters down the road if you sell. We are a licensed Ohio electrical contractor, #38179.
Most home installs are done in a few hours to most of a day, depending on how far the charger sits from your panel and whether any panel work is needed. If your panel has room and the run is short, it goes fast. If we need to upgrade the panel too, we plan that into the same visit. We give you a clear time window before we start.
Same-day dispatch from our Warren shop across five counties.
“Furnace went out on a Sunday night. AK had a tech in the driveway in 90 minutes, parts on the truck, and we were warm before kids' bedtime. Worth every dollar of the maintenance plan.”
“Our restaurant walk-in went down at 6am. AK answered the after-hours line on the second ring and had us running before lunch service. We've switched all of our refrigeration work to them.”
“Had Generac install, AC tune-up, and a humidifier swap done across two visits. One bill, one company, real techs. This is what local service is supposed to feel like.”
It is tempting to stretch an extension cord to your car, but EV chargers pull serious power and a regular cord can overheat and become a fire hazard. A charger needs its own dedicated 240-volt circuit wired straight to your panel. If you find yourself reaching for a cord, that is the sign it is time for a proper Level 2 install. Call us and we will set you up safely.
